BLOOMING WITH BEETHOVEN
Imagine the concert hall just as the light of early summer lingers outside. The air is warm with expectation. Musicians take their seats one by one, bows resting lightly on strings, brass catching the soft glow of the stage lights. The orchestra is about to begin a new chapter : its very first symphony.
This season's journey begins more than two centuries ago, with a young composer standing at the edge of history: Ludwig van Beethoven.
At the dawn of his career, Beethoven was full of restless curiosity. Vienna buzzed with music, and the shadow of giants like Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Joseph Haydn still lingered in every concert hall. Yet Beethoven was already listening for something new: something bold, unpredictable, and unmistakably his own.
Beethoven composed the Octet for Winds in E-flat major, Op. 103 around 1792–1793, when he was about 21–22 years old. At that time, he had just moved from Bonn to Vienna. In 1800, he presents himself boldly to the music capital of Europe in a remarkable debut concert with its Symphony No. 1 in C major, Op. 21. In 1809-1810, Beethoven composed the Egmont Overture, another master piece of his work.
We’re excited to present our new program, inspired by the birth of a genius: Beethoven at the dawn of his creativity. This season, witness a young composer on the threshold of greatness, full of curiosity, bold ideas, and a musical voice just beginning to take flight.
This June, as spring slowly gives way to summer, experience the blossoming of Beethoven’s music.
As the orchestra brings music to life, young artists will paint live on stage. With each movement, colors will bloom across the canvas. Sound and image will grow together, like two languages telling the same story.
